How It Works

Battery - the heart of the system, Stand-alone solar system, Electrical back-up system, Hybrid solar system, Solar stand alone system, Its daily life applications.

BATTERY - THE HEART OF THE SYSTEM

The human heart takes oxygen from the lungs and distributes it wherever it is needed in the body. In a similar way, the battery in a renewable energy system takes electricity produced by the sun, PHCN/generator or the wind and distributes it to the electrical requirements of the user. It is vital to use the right type of battery for the job.

STORAGE
The function of a battery in a renewable energy system is to store electricity as the prevailing solar produces it or wind energy. The battery compensates for differences in the current produced that is required by the electrical load. It also compensates for variations in energy production from day to night, from one day to the next and from season to season.

The type and size of battery required to ensure a supply of electricity depends on the local weather conditions and individual requirements. There is no universal solution.

LIFE TIME
The lifetime of a particular battery in a renewable energy system depends on several factors. The total number of cycles depends on how deep each cycle is. This is determined by the relative size of the battery and the total load. Over a long period of time, the life of the battery may be limited by internal corrosion process. These increase at higher temperatures. If the wrong type of battery is used, sudden failure might occur due to slow recharging after a deep discharge, or at very low temperatures.

GETTING IT RIGHT
Choosing the right type of battery for a solar or wind application requires a thorough knowledge for both renewable energy systems. We have to get it right first time. At SEAPS we test our batteries under realistic conditions to make sure that we do what is right.

ELECTRICAL BACK-UP SYSTEM

This refers to PHCN and or Generator

Ideal for Radio Communication Network, Routers, Servers, VSAT, Computers, Printers, Fax, PABX, Telex, Close Circuit Security Camera, IT Network, Relay Stations, Telecommunication Systems, Air Traffic Control/ Satellite Systems et cetera.

HYBRID SOLAR SYSTEM

This refers to a combination of Solar Systems, Generator and/or PHCN. This is for areas where conventional electricity is fairly constant and it is also designed to automatically change over from Solar to LEC/Generator.

Ideal for Radio Communication Network, Routers, Servers, VSAT, Computers, Printers, Fax, PABX, Telex, Close Circuit Security Camera, IT Network, Relay Stations, Telecommunication Systems, Air Traffic Control/ Satellite Systems et cetera.

SOLAR STAND ALONE SYSTEM

This refers to a complete solar system comprising photovoltaic (PV) Modules, charge controllers, storage batteries, inverters and all installation materials/accessories, for areas where the national grid (PHCN) is non-existent and the use of generator not convenient. It is ideal for unmanned equipment especially in inaccessible terrain. It is designed to be automatically powered by the sun.

Ideal for Radio Communication Network, Routers, Servers, VSAT, Computers, Printers, Fax, PABX, Telex, Close Circuit Security Camera, IT Network, Relay Stations, Telecommunication Systems, Air Traffic Control/ Satellite Systems et cetera.

About usLearn about who we are

The SUN is the basis for all life on earth and the main source of energy. This continuous energy flow from the sun to the earth exceeds 15,000 times the energy need of mankind today & tomorrow; and yet, more than 2 billion people in less developed countries, in most of which solar energy is plentiful, have a severally limited access to any form of energy.
